Khao Takiab Bay Open-Water Swimming

Calm sheltered bay used by local triathletes

The sheltered bay at Khao Takiab, at the south end of the beach, has relatively calm, shallow water that local triathletes and open-water swimmers use for training. Conditions are gentlest in the mornings before the wind picks up. There are no lifeguards and boat traffic near the pier — swim with a buddy and a tow float, and note conditions vary by season.
